In the final installment of photos from the Desert Botanical Gardens, here are the butterflies inside the butterfly pavilion. I have never seen so many butterflies in one place, and even had the pleasure of one landing on my foot.

In the third installment of photos from the Desert Botanical Gardens, here is the Chihuly: Nature of Glass displays that were interspersed with the desert landscape. They created a random, yet beautiful effect in contrast to the surrounding nature.

This past weekend, my hubby took me on a surprise trip to the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, Arizona. Since I have a nice collection of photos, I am going to break them up into a series of posts. For Part One of this series, the focus is cacti – oddly shaped cacti and colorful cacti blossoms. 
The Japanese Friendship Garden is an absolutely wonderful little Japanese garden, nestled into the downtown Phoenix area. It is beautiful, peaceful, and the perfect escape from the stress of daily life. If you are in the Phoenix metro area, I definitely recommend taking a stroll around this garden. The entrance fee is only $5, and more than worth it.
