Related News: The Big 30

Today I turned the big 3-0. I have left my 20’s, and am now embarking upon my 30’s. So far, the day has been quite exciting. Last year on my birthday, my husband proposed, and shortly thereafter started making plans for my birthday this year.

So what has happened so far? He actually arranged for me to have the day off of work so I could go on a treasure hunt. Eight clues led me to a few presents, an amazingly sweet card with a love letter inside, and an outfit to wear later tonight for a mystery date. I’m looking very forward to what is in store for later. :)

So needless to say, that is why this post is a bit shorter in terms of less #FollowFriday recs and no preview, because I have been busy having a LOT of fun, and haven’t really thought out my post for next week. But don’t despair, something interesting will come to mind before the weekend is over with.

Literal Music Video

Literal music videos are ones where someone interprets and performs the song, but the lyrics are now based off of what is going on in the video. There are a few good ones, and a few really bad ones. This is by far the best one… I laugh every time I watch it.

    Kristi, you make it hard to call it a day with so many good things to read. Your husband sounds like he keeps things lively. Have a wonderful evening and a great weekend. Once again, thanks so much for the link love.

    Happy Birthday Kristi!

    So, you’re a Gemini, I could tell by the way you write, so easy, effortless and joyful. Thanks again for the link love and man, I laughed at that literal version. I admit it’s the first time I see one, but from what you wrote – and from what I saw – I think it’s the best in its field.

    May you have an interesting life :-)

    Happy Birthday Kristi, welcome to the dark side of 30, an exclusive club which I also joined this year!

    I hadn’t seen the Bonnie Tyler literal video before, definitely one of the better examples though I think my favorite is still the ‘Take on Me’ one (mainly because I loved the orginal music video as a kid). I can’t find the full version on youtube any more but it is still available at funnyordie.com.

    I try to get as many of the good people that Retweet my messages listed on my Sunday Smash as possible, I realize I can’t possibly thank everyone in this blog post each week but I do try to list a few of you that are nice enough to retweet my messages and recommend me on #FollowFriday.

    Hi Kristi! Once again, thanks for the link love! I hope the others will enjoy my article on knowing our blind spots. Happy birthday to you! You sure look younger than your age! :D By the way, I noticed that for some reason, my wordpress doesn’t catch the trackbacks from your blog. I’m not sure why – I do have pingbacks/trackbacks enabled. if you have any idea, I’ll be happy to hear them!

      @Frank: I’m glad. Tastiest blogs… that’s a good way to phrase it!

      @Harsh: Yes, I wish I had known more about the privacy options in relation to the lists – I would have organized incoming friend requests better.

      @Jonathan: He does keep things lively. My birthday involved a romantic little treasure hunt! :)

      @Sire: Thanks! I did have a great day.

      @Stratosg: I had lots of fun on Friday thanks to my hubby and his creative thinking!

      @MiscBytes: Thanks. I’ve gotten them down to only taking about half an hour to post, thanks to having all of the links I want to use in my Stumble favorites.

      @Tycoon Blogger: Thanks! The Blogussion post had lots of great articles to choose from, some that I need to get back to as well.

      @Offset Drivers: Thanks, and you’re welcome!

      @YogeshGautam: Thanks!

      @Ching: Thanks for the best wishes! Having the comments and birthday wishes are presents enough for me. :)

      @Yoon: Thanks… hope you enjoy it all!

      @Dragos: Thank you. I love that video. There is something new to laugh at each time I see it!

      @Stu: Well Happy Belated Birthday to you too. I like the Take on Me one as well, but Total Eclipse is by far the funniest.

      @Moratmarit: Thanks!

      @Kim: Thanks! Yes, your articles are always helpful! People on Youtube have been commenting that the lyrics on this video go better with it than the original. :)

      @Jen: Thanks! Yes, it has been a fun one!

      @Steve: Thanks!

      @Mobile dj: Thanks, and you’re welcome.

      @Ben: I just wanted something cleaner. I am leaning towards the threaded replies, but at the same time, I just hate how the boxes get smaller and smaller each time there is a reply to a reply. Seems to mess up the format.

      @Catering: I know the feeling. I try to keep up with all of those as well, but there are some days I end up thanking people on Saturday. Saturday should be like #FollowFriSat or something.

      @Celes: Thanks! I’m not sure about the trackbacks/pingbacks. I generally use url/trackback for all of the WordPress blog articles I link here. I know some of them are going through, but I don’t have the notification to ping other sites on. I’ll have to try that and see if it helps. Thanks for the FYI! :)
