How to gain 2281 subscribers in a week! Well, I think, out of 100 bloggers only one or two achieve this magic result, due to several reasons (including luck as one of them). Not everybody can achieve the same result by using the same method. As far as traffic increase is concerned, in the beginning when the absolute numbers are small (say 100 visitors), one can always achieve 69% increase in a short period.

I’ve been realizing and seeing more and more the need to NOT over optimize when it comes to SEO. I was, in the beginning, just building up links without much anchor text variation. Now I’m switching it up constantly and it appears (correlation, not causation) to be helping. (read the article on not overoptimizing) Sweet list, again!

Bad habits for freelancers – this was perfect and right when I needed it. It’s crazy, I remember when I decided to go the freelance route. It was at the end of my bartending career. Yes I can actually claim that I was a career tender. Anyway, I realize that I have fallen into several traps as a freelancer.
Working alone – I talk to my clients but outside of my family, this has been the extent of my social world. It’s only recently dawning on me that my social side has dramatically dropped. Which leads to this problem.
I became a workaholic. I thought working as a freelancer was supposed to FREE up more time. Well, at least I get to pick the 15 hours per day that I want to work. It’s hard explaining to my wife that I don’t have a 9-5 job. I thought I would have tons more free time. Not so much.
I love what I do. I work as an online marketing consult. I love being able to interact with people. The challenge is learning how to keep a great work/life balance. This definitely reminded me of several things that I have forgotten .

Love the anchor text distribution especially. It is interesting to know that a “natural linking profile” for a branded store. From the stats shown, obviously it is quite aggressive for us to put even 70% exact anchor while most of the natural link building profile is only around 15-20%.
Anyway, just have to stick to whatever is currently working now.
