  1. It seems that BuddyPress works good as a “blog collaboration system”, I some how prefer the power of Drupal to discover new horizontals, I think Drupal has the best grouping and user management platform! (just an opinion while I am still working on it)

    Nice Old Spice video lol

    • Yes, those videos are funny. And your group is doing great in Drupal. It’s all about what blog owners are most comfortable working with, even if it is Google Groups so long as they come together.

  2. A great list of articles, Kristi….I read few of the articles (since I could not get time to read all) and got a lot of new information.

Also the old Spice video was quite cool :D

    • Thanks! I figure most people won’t be able to get through them all, but hopefully everyone will find at least one or two articles that will be eye-opening.

  3. Kristi, I swear Fetching Friday gets better every week. I am trying to establish it as it’s own category on StumbleUpon. So, for all you stumblers out there, add Fetching Friday as a category when (not if) you review it, OK?

  4. Amazing resources as always !

  5. I agree with Jonathan and in addition to getting better, it reflects on your progress in all aspects of SEO and rankings!

    • Thanks. I think that FF is probably a little insight into the things I’m interested in because essentially, topics that are on the top of my head are likely to be the ones that stand out when I’m choosing the top 5.

  6. Great round up once again. I just started using W3 Total Cache and need all the help I can get, lol

Also loved the cake designs but I dont think they included any from my buddy across the street the Cake Boss. I could just hear him cussing right now :)

    Happy Friday Everybody!

    • If he has a lot of cool designs, maybe he could post a blog on his own top 10 designs! Great viral content + advertising all in one.

  7. As usual, very great list of resources. I checked out a few but the one with the most personal impact on our business, because it is a local business, is the one on Dominating Google Maps. Very nice.

    • That one did look interesting… even though you could get to it by going to the article that referenced it, it seemed too good to leave out.

  8. Your mash-up of resources is always an inspiration – I have a site that I am hoping that Google map domination post will help out!

I use W3 Total Cache on a site and I’ve always wanted to learn more about it. Now Ive got a great link!

Thanks for the link over to the ebook overpricing post of mine. I’m trying to explore how and why certain things are done online. Talking myself in circles is sure to continue LoL

    • I’ve been researching product pricing, so it came at a good time! Talking in circles helps others think about these kinds of things from different perspectives, which is a great thing.

  9. Kristi, In regards to the W3 Total Cache, I’ve never used any of the cache programs that are out there for wordpress. Main reason being… I don’t understand the allure about it. I mean.. doesn’t wordpress by default already cache the website content? It seems so strange to me that a software company as good as wordpress who have always been improving their code, would not try to improve their cache? I don’t know I’ve never been able to find somewhere that explains it to us clearly why it’s advantageous to use it.

    Sorry for my Rambling…..

    Till then,

    • WordPress has their own system, but it’s not strong enough to withstand a huge burst of traffic all at once, like if you were lucky enough to make the frontpage of Digg. W3 Super Cache used to (or maybe still does) have a banner that you can add to your site that says Digg proofed or Digg ready, something to that effect.

  10. Great roundup Kristi.
I also just booked my ticket for Blog World Expo! Should be a great time.

All I have to say is “Silver Fish Hand Catch”

  11. Excellent mashup Kristi! Lot of material this week and the video has been extremely popular.

I’ve noticed the Apture toolbar up at the screen. I didn’t know it; in general I’ve seen others, but at bottom.
Let me know how result in term of conversions or social sharings ;-) may be I can put it on mine.

    Have a great weekend!

    • Yep, I’m giving it a try for a little bit to see if my social sharing picks up. Hopefully it gets good response!

  12. Put the Blogging Resources page on stumbleupon so as to bookmark it for myself – it is definitely something I will be sharing with others soon, I’m sure. Read the article about how to get more linkjuice out of places people don’t usually look just to try and understand SEO a bit better, and very much loved the first thing you linked to, which embodies a consistent commenting strategy (something I’ve been working on recently).

    Thanks for all these resources!

  13. Fantastico, as they say here in Brazil :) I started to be a more frequent user of FaceBook recently as I was just quite not into it yet. The articles that you feature here about FB will certainly give my knowledge up a lot of notches, hehe thanks. And Ching Ya’s posts rocks!

Ohh! Thanks for the mention about the CTR for better targeting users to convert. Hope people use this tactic, it works well

  14. Kristi, I’ve spent most of this blissful week hiking in the mountains, away from the computer and away from the Internet and blogs.

This post was the first I turned to so I can find out what I missed. Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into Fetching Friday.

  15. Thanks for the barking plug above, Kristi. Have you also noticed a delay of about 24-36 hours between syndicating a blog to Feedburner and it being received by other people, and thus delaying Google alerts?

  21. I found this link late friday and had my weekend disappear! Thanks for sharing, and I’m looking forward to next fridays list of awesome links!

  22. The photoshop list is great I can’t wait to get into it more.

  23. I absolutely loved the Old Spice commercials and what they did by responding to tweets by making videos I think was absolutely brilliant! It’s sad that it had to end so soon, but I guess it’s a case of quitting while you’re on top.

Great line up as always! Thanks Kristi.
