Just wanted to thank you for that “blog comments are not roadkill” article – it was very well-reasoned and has been bookmarked. There’s a few bloggers I’ve known who’ve shut off comments, and wondered why I found that outright insulting to me. Granted, the few I’ve known who’ve done this aren’t the most adept socially, but given the fact there’s a line of argument saying that shutting down comments is reasonable, well I’ll just say it helps to have an article around that turns that argument into mulch.

It is amazing how prevalent plagiarism is. I was checking one of my clients work the other day and found he had added a huge article to his site. So, I of course checked to see if it had gotten indexed yet. Of course, I found someone almost immediately that had scraped him, but after a little more poking around, I found that it wasn’t even original in the first place. We are going to have to have a sit down and discuss duplicate content and plagiarism next week…
