Fetching Friday – Resources Mashup, Your Input Wanted & More

by Kristi on January 15, 2010 · 18 comments · Fetching Friday

This post is part of a weekly series, Fetching Friday, featuring the resources mashup, a reader poll, and upcoming posts on the Kikolani Network.

Reader Poll

Before I get to the good stuff (the resources of course), I wanted to ask Fetching Friday fans the following question.

I have been just putting any random number of posts in each category, based on how many I come across that I want to share with everyone (which sometimes can include 20+ articles in one category), but after a suggestion last week that this might be a bit overwhelming, I thought I’d open the floor to the readers because Fetching Fridays are always for you!

For this week, I will do my usual, but based on the response, I might change it up for future Fridays. Voting is open until Wednesday, January20th.

The Resources Mashup

Here are some of the best articles I have stumbledupon this week.

Top 10 Social Media Blog Finalist

Kikolani is a finalist in the Top 10 Social Media Blogs for 2010. So if you enjoy this blog, please go and show your support!

Coming Up on the Kikolani Network

Next week on Kikolani, I have two guest posts on WordPress plugins that increase traffic and how one blogger got 200 subscribers in the first month of blogging. Also, check out Famous Bloggers and Blogger Luv, two sites that I will be regularly writing for weekly from now on.

Banana Phone

You may or may not have heard the original banana phone, but either way, this little rendition of it was a funny find by my husband this week, so I have to share it with everyone. The expressions are priceless!

Another great list of resources :-)

If you don’t own the book, you should enter the giveaway. Even if you’re adept in WordPress it has great info and snippets of code that are so useful.

Now I’m off to read the huge portraits in Facebook article …

I’ve just completely deleted all my RSS feeds in my reader and I am starting afresh. You’re collection of posts will help me add some new blogs quickly without the hassle of tracking across the web. :)

Thanks for the link to one of our posts, always an honour.

That would be amazing if it was a new domain (How one blogger increased PageRank from 0 to 4 in 21 days), but with the frequency of PR toolbar updates I find this hard to believe. If the domain has history and it expired and was purchased by a new owner, than it’s possible.

Hey Kristi, thanks for linking my blog post “5 ways to build your brand effectively”, appreciate it! I’m heading to some posts that I’ve missed out this week.

I watched the video clip “Banana Phone”, I’ve never heard the song before, but I can see the girl was really enjoying it, the video makes me smile. Thanks for sharing it Kristi.

Have a nice weekend!

Cheers,
Lee

I like the poll you have on this post, I see that most of people are voting for no more than 5 links in each category! I have voted for the same also as I think this will give more chance to read all of them!

Thanks so much for including my article on how to clean up in twitter followers :) I didn’t notice any trackback/pingbacks from you, on that post, I’m sorry if it got caught in spam and then later deleted :(

Regarding the vote, I voted “any number”, cause it can be hard to say how many articles you find worthy in any given week, so limiting it to 5 if you found 8, might not be a good idea. I think.

I love banana phone – that video was great, her expressions was really priceless. Thanks for sharing! :)

I intended to pick some articles to read from but it’s so hard, every piece looked interesting. :) It’s a busy day but I’ll make up for it, including supporting you as the finalist as well. You deserved the crown! Big thanks to include me in your list for the post ‘6 ways to track blog success’. To me, you’ve already achieving yours and still going strong! Best wishes!
