This post is part of a weekly series, Fetching Friday, featuring the best posts of the week in blogging, making money online, SEO, and social media on kikolani.com.

The Resources Mashup

Here are some of the best articles I have stumbled upon, retweeted on @kikolani, and read in RSS subscriptions this week.

Blogging / Writing

  • The 1 -2 punch marketing action plan for blogs – I personally think there are more than just two punches here, but great details on how to get your blog moving.
  • 3 blog post blueprints that build fans – hint: you’re looking at one of those blueprints right now!
  • The freelance writer’s guide to Internet research – not a bad resource for bloggers or writers in general.
  • Running multi-author blogs – the good, the bad, and the ugly side of running a joint blogging effort with others.
  • How to deal with obnoxious blog commenters – I don’t agree with the “paying the toll” part but there are some good points brought up in this post.

Business / Career

Graphic Design / Web Design

  • Vital contents of a business card – while some items may seem obvious, you’d be surprised how many of them get left off of a business card, a brochure, or a flyer printing.
  • The keys to making fresh, forwardly aesthetic web designs – five different elements that help create a beautiful website.
  • 5 simple tips for creating an effective FAQ page – great examples of design and functionality.
  • Designer portfolios to inspire – 10 great designer portfolio layouts for your design inspiration.
  • 37 sophisticated and stylish UV coated business cards – great examples of cards with a little flair that stands out and brings them to the next level of professionalism.

Personal Development / Productivity

  • The art of deciding your next travel destination – crush your fear about leaving home, get on the road, and fulfil your dreams of traveling!
  • 50 ways to get more done today – getting more done in less time so you can get more enjoyment out of those added hours every day.
  • 7 simple steps to extreme personal productivity – how to tackle a 10 – 12 hour task in one day.
  • Is it time for an internal program upgrade – what do you do when you want your computer to perform a task that is currently beyond its ability? You upgrade it!
  • Trim a few suckers from your life – how to identify undesirable suckers in your life and remove them!

Search Engines / SEO

Social Media / Social Networking

  4. Thanks for including one of my posts this week Kristi!

I don’t know where you’re going in northern Arizona, but there’s a great slot section in Wirepass Canyon at the top of the state on Alt 89 east of Fredonia. It’s only about a mile’s walk in.

And good for you for unplugging this weekend. I hope you do it completely: no cell phone, no Internet.

  8. I know I sound redundant Kristi, but considering you have a job and such a prolific blogging schedule on top of that, I’m just amazed you have the ability to still get out, comment, and then share with the rest of us the best of the week. You rock lady.

    Have a great 4th.

  9. I still find it amazing that you can provide all the resources week after week. Just finding the time to post them all is great. I tell myself I wonder what the kind of photo of the week she will post this week. Something about pictures, they make a big difference. And the elephant…yes they are cool. We had a baby elephant born at are local zoo last year, and it was the talk of the local news. At any rate I’ll rummage through the round up as usual, and I am sure I will find a few helpful tips.

  11. Hakunamatata.

I agree with you about the crush your fear about leaving the road. I had a friend who had a fear of traveling. Whenever we talk about going places and also the beautiful experiences we had on other countries, he always seems out of place, shying away. People like such lose a lot of fun and enjoyment. Too bad for them.

The photo of the elephant is lovely :)
