Best Week Ever

This week has been really exciting. Monday I attended the Social Media AZ event in Tempe and learned a lot of valuable information on blogging, social media, and SEO thanks to a great selection of speakers. Wednesday, I woke up to a comment from Fred von Graf, founder of SMAZ, that I won a trip to Mexico for a tweet contest on the Worst Social Media Fail of 2009, which I believe is businesses who use social media as a one way advertising platform instead of two way conversation between them and their community. And today, I woke up to congratulatory tweets because I was voted in the Top 10 Social Media Blogs list with other social media experts such as Mashable, Jay Baer, and Amber Naslund. So all in all, a great week in the world of social media and blogging!

Advertising Opportunities

I have opened up advertising opportunities here at Kikolani. If you have an area you would like to be advertised in other than the sidebar, please contact me and I will see what I can do for you.

Coming Up on the Kikolani Network

Since I didn’t get to my post on using social bookmarking networks for information collecting in lieu of my recap of SMAZ, it is on the agenda for next week. I was waiting on a guest post to come through before I announced the other major post of next week, but it has yet to appear. Never fear, I will come up with something good if it doesn’t.

Oh, and I forgot – CONGRATULATIONS! The trip is awesome enough, but to be part of the Top 10 Social Media Blogs, being alongside Mashable and Chris Brogan – that is outstanding!

Congratulations for ranking so high at that contest: i closely watched it and I was glad to see my vote wasn’t in vain :-)

Again, thanks so much for the link love. I must say that keeping the posts to a max of 5 makes them much more digestible. Not to mention that this constraint will force you to select only the best posts.

Have a great week-end :-)

Well thank you for voting! Honestly, I thought cutting it down to 5 posts in each topic would make the process quicker, but it actually still takes the same amount of time because of that selection – having to go with the top 5 in each category. It’s a difficult decision to make!

Thanks! I always try to look for something interesting. I figure it’s the last thing in a post leading to the weekend, so I like to start it with something fun, cool, awe inspiring or relaxing.

You know, it’s really though limiting to 5. There are still posts I would like to include but can’t. I do have a plan in mind to take care of that coming soon though.

A hour into Friday I was thinking about this post. Then saw people coming to my blog from my link you included :) I have been kicking back and ready to regroup after that BloggerLUV set back but it’s all good. I learned more about databases that’s for sure.

It’s tough setting up a new site, especially considering you’re not just dealing with it for yourself, but for a group. We’ll all be there when it’s back up and running again! :)

I too would like to extend my congratulations to you Kristi for a job well done.

I find myself getting fond at this Friday posts because of the resources that I know provides some real meat. I mean, Kristi won’t just make a list of links that are rehashes of several other old posts you find anywhere. As I’m interested in SEO at this time, I find the entries under ‘SEO / Website Optimization’ very useful. Thanks.

You are really good at this. Another great list of links. I especially liked “having ads on your blog”, I personally just recommend products and post ads of products which I have tried and found out to be good.
