Guest Post Opportunities
Thanks for your interest in guest posting opportunities at Kikolani.
What am I looking for?
I would like guest posts that fit in theme with the current subjects I cover on this site. Luckily for you, I cover a variety of things, from technical to thoughtful. So anything in the following categories would be welcome:
- Blogging (technical, tips & tricks, benefits, SEO, etc.)
- Social media (informational, beneficial)
- Personal Development (motivational, inspirational) for bloggers and social media users
Keep in mind that I am always open to other topics as well, so long as they fit the general theme of this site. Please contact me with your ideas and writing samples!
What are the benefits?
For the guest poster, the benefits include reaching a new audience and, if you have a site of your own, the potential to gain new readers from this exposure. Also, your article gets twice the social media promotion between the author’s and Kikolani’s social networks.
For the readers, the benefits include gaining insight & perspective from a new voice and the opportunity to discover another informative, beneficial site to read as well.
Any catches?
- The article that you write for Kikolani must be original. This means that you wrote it, and it is not published on any other website, including your own. I’m sure neither of us want to be dinged by the Google Duplicate Content fairy.
- While I don’t mind a little link love back to yourself, the article must not be covered in links or focused solely on affiliate product sales.
- I do reserve the right to do some editing work, mainly for grammatical purposes.
How soon will I know if my article is approved?
I will read any articles/ideas submitted as soon as possible, and probably let you know within a day or two if it will be published. This way you are not waiting in limbo wondering if you should send the article/ideas elsewhere.
Guest Post Guidelines
- Please send guest posts via email in Word, Open Office, or Rich Text Format.
- If you include the post within the body of the email, please make sure it is still formatted.
- Please attach a few pictures for your post (and include image credits when necessary).
- Please include internal links in your post – good resources, links back to relevant articles on Kikolani, etc.
- Please do not include affiliate links.
- Posts must be in good English.
- Posts should be between 500 – 800 words (exceptions would be posts that have lots of images or video supplement).
- Note that I reserve the right to edit posts for grammatical consistency or to add additional information – I will mark these as Editor’s Notes so that readers will know which parts were additions to your work.
- Be sure to attach your author bio – I usually split this up between the top and bottom of the post. Also include an email address linked to your Gravatar image (or create one if you do not have one) and your Twitter handle if you have one.
- Comment replies to your post will be emailed to your email address. The more you return to your post to reply to comments, the more discussion will happen which will encourage more social sharing and boost the popularity of your post.
How soon will my article be posted?
This really depends on what is going on at the site and how many other guest posts I have in the queue. Generally, I would say it can be published within in a week of submission.
Does Kikolani write guest posts for others?
YES! I have written a few guest posts on WordPress security, self-improvement, and social media. Please see my guest posts and interviews in the archives.
If you would like me to do a guest post for your site, please contact me. Lead times may vary, depending on the work load I have with my site and various projects. While I strive to do everything in a timely manner, I don’t want to sacrifice quality for a deadline.
