I'm late on this post, but It's still worth it's weight.

I even assume there are now ways for a blogger to post content and have it submitted to these social sites. I struggle with such automation and feeling robotic though. I love testing out things for a few months and seeing how it worked out - even if a cool blogger says to do it because it's the best. Testing these channels are important.

When it comes to twitter, I think people should try different titles or questions and ways to entice followers to click. Many people will state they are re-posting an earlier tweet and it feels like they are making it a chore. My goal is to try and help other photographers realize that social promotion should not feel like a chore and that it needs to be sustainable. I believe in keeping it real and something that you can see yourself doing consistently.

Thanks for the run-down as I should try reddit more often and see what happens.

Your articles are always so detailed, helpful and learning. I had no idea about tip'd and design float, and the plug-ins that you've mentioned. Thanks for the great info!

Kristi, I've been researching social bookmarking and it seems like people have mixed results with it. The biggest complain is that traffic is irrelevant comparing to organic Google traffic. Hope it works great for you though!

@Norm: I'll have to take a look at it. Thanks! :)

@Diet Blog: Niche communities and networks are the best. There may not be many people there, but for those people that are, they are focused on your topic specifically.

This is a great rundown of a social promotion. I like the idea of using specific niche-targeted networks. It sometimes feels weird just pushing your content to a general audience, so this is a great approach both for the writer and the reader.
