Neighbors

You live in the same building
just on the opposite side.

We cross paths
exchange glances
but never say hello.

The next time
I see you out though,
I will change that.

But of course,
I am impatient.

It has been a few days
since I last saw you
roaming around in our parking lot.

My only other idea is
just to leave my number
on your truck,
but I do not, in case
you have a girlfriend.

Hopefully not.

Why did we both
have to be so shy
that last time?

It was a
perfect opportunity
missed.
