Why Subscribe via RSS?

RSS Subscription

What is RSS?

Simply put, it is the easiest way to keep up with your favorite blogs, news sites and more.

What to Look For to Find RSS Feeds

Variations of the standard RSS logo (), subscribe widgets (), a feedburner counter (), or links to Entries RSS, Comments RSS, Subscribe, Posts to Atom, XML, etc.

Subscribe via Readers

Click on any of the above mentioned RSS links, and then select the reader, otherwise known as a feed reader or news aggregator, you would like to have the feed post in. There are many online readers, including Google Reader, Bloglines, My Yahoo, My AOL, My MSN and more.

Once subscribed, all you have to do is visit your reader whenever you want updates on your favorite sites. It will show you if there are new posts to your subscription.

Subscribe via Email

Alternatively, if you would rather have the website email you each time a new article is posted, you can subscribe via email where ever you see an email subscription link or form. Then new items will arrive in your inbox whenever they are available.

What Do I Use?

I am a fan of Google Reader. Since I am logged into my Gmail account all day, it made sense to have my reader using the same Google account. My subscriptions are organized in folders by topic: blogging tips, design, money makers, photography, artistic, humorous, etc. I also have a special folder for readers and commentators of my blog. This way I can easily see newest posts by my readers, which is a part of my blogging process that helps me get to know more about them.

So why wait? Start subscribing!
