When it comes to lists of leaders in the tech industry, there is usually always one person who notes the lack of women appearing in them. And it’s no surprise they notice.
A Little List Analysis
I took a look at 14 lists that have come out over the last year for the top bloggers, social media marketers, search marketers, and entrepreneurs. The average number of women included is 34% IF you include three lists that were actually dedicated to women. In the other 11 lists that were a mixture, only an average of 16% of the people mentioned were women.
It’s not like there are not any awesome women out there – there just seems to be more men. Please don’t think I’m complaining – I’m not really. I have had the pleasure of being included in several of them, and am highly thankful for that!
Who Are These Women
This list includes female bloggers that cover a huge variety of topics in the blogosphere. They are not only bloggers, but many are also published authors, entrepreneurs, CEOs, experts in their niche, and overall inspirations.
I have included many well known female influences as well as some that are just starting out but have a very promising future in the blogging world that I have come across online, found in other lists, connected with in forums like the Third Tribe and the BlogcastFM Green Room, or met at events such as Blog World Expo and Social Media AZ. Many are pretty active bloggers, although some I include in hopes that they will get going again!
So without further ado, here are the fearless females in blogging, organized alphabetically by first name (as a few in the list go by pen name or don’t publicize their last name). Enjoy! Also, don’t miss the great giveaway at the end of the post!

You’re welcome! This was the post I mentioned working on Twitter to you maybe a week ago.
Hi dear Kristi, seriously honored to be on this list – I really am – and such an amazing resource to go through and check over the next days or weeks since I like to take my time to get to know new bloggers well….
!
On the topic of men vs. women, my only thought is this: Only the best should (and eventually do) float up to the top. To me, it shouldn’t matter if you are a guy or a gal, if you come from one end of the world or another, so long as you are the BEST in that field or for whatever list you are being featured – or for that speaker slot at Blogworld (that was a long debate too) – then you deserve it fully – and if we only focus on the best of the best, and not any other factors, then the true numbers show up without a bit of discrimination…..they really do – and for me, all through my career (12+ years at large and small corporations) and all my interactions in other communities, men are hugely supportive of women succeeding but never of anyone just complaining. I think we just have to get on with the game and show what we have, which is no doubt what all the women here on this list are doing, and you being on top of it all. I am so happy to know you dear Kristi and that lunch is so on me next Blogworld
Farnoosh recently posted Power Tips for When Travel Plans go Awry
I haven’t felt like there was discrimination, per say, in the lists (hence why I mentioned I wasn’t complaining).
I have just been following women bloggers that I expect to see on these lists but aren’t usually mentioned. I even read on a blog post somewhere that one blogger felt like there weren’t enough women bloggers out there – she was wrong, but I thought it might be partially due to the small percentage of ones that are included in big time listings. Blogging seems to be a pretty equal playing field, especially from what I noted at Blog World. Just thought I’d shed some light on some great women who deserve to be on every list, including you!
Kristi, I wasn’t talking about YOU my dear (so sorry if it came across that way!) – I was just expressing my thoughts on this topic because it comes up more often than not and I wanted to emphasize that there really is greatness everywhere and no one is trying to hide the women from the lime light. It just seemed like an appropriate place to share those thoughts, that’s all
! Your recognition here is extremely kind and very well thought-out …. and I am glad you don’t think there is any discrimination at all, I don’t either – we have a fantastic playing field here and we should do with it as much as we can….thank you again for including me among such good company!
Hi Kristi,

This is super of you to do this!! It’s such an honor to be included here among all of these wonderful women bloggers. I’m excited to be considered “Fearless!” – it makes me feel all tingly inside
Anyway, please count me in on this giveaway.
To share what I did:
Guest posting has made the biggest difference in my blogging life. I wrote a guest post for the former owner of WeBlogBetter and he liked it so much that he thought I would make a good new owner for the blog – I didn’t realize he was looking for someone to take it over, but he had a lot on his plate at the time. Ever since I took over the blog, I’ve been doing my best to produce quality content geared to help and inspire other bloggers.
Also, having my blog featured on Lisa Irby’s blog (another great woman blogger on this list), has made a tremendous difference as well – I was afraid to submit the blog for her review at first, but I decided to toss my fears aside and just go for it! I’m glad I did.

Kristi, this was an excellent idea for a post and a wonderful way to acknowledge the hard working, well-spoken, intelligent, admirable, talented, bloggers, business minds and leaders that are women.
I look forward to going through this list one by one and getting to know those ladies that I don’t already. Looks like I’ve got my reading set for the next couple of weeks lol

Thanks again for everything. Coming from someone like you, it means a heck of a lot to part of this bunch!

Ooops, I new had forgotten to add something

Hello again Kristi,
. As to what I did:
I’d love to enter the giveaway
*Well, I’ve told everyone I spoke to in the last 2 days – and their mother – that the uber cool, popular and famous Kristi Hines wrote a post about 125 awesome and fearless women bloggers – and that I was in it
. I’ve been rather popular all day lol.
*I tweeted the crap out of this. And I’m sure I’ll tweet again a few more times – in small doses though – as not to bombard my followers
.
* I shared it on my Facebook group (nittyGriddy) where some really cool folks have been stopping by to leave their ‘likes’ and 2 cents. And even better: some friends also shared it on their profiles – just cause they think us gals are uber cool and brilliant in a fabulous way
.
* I just joined the “Women in Blogging” LinkedIn group – but it’s still pending approval. Hope they let me in lol
.
* I subscribed to the Kikolani newsletter – although for some reason I could have sworn I had already done that. Hmmmm…well just in case I haven’t before, I did so now
.
* I attempted to create a pretty widget where I could boast about being on Kikolani’s “125 Fearless Female Bloggers” list – but, it didn’t look so great – CSS and I aren’t that close. But soon, when my new blog redesign is up and running.
* I thought of writing a short post on my blog (started it) – and realized I would want to mention and congratulate every single one of these women – first and foremost you. And if I do, it would be another list of 125 names lol. So, that one’s out for now, but you never know what else I could come up with in regards to that
.
* I’m thinking about having t-shirts made (one in almost every color) saying “Hey. Look at Us gals” hahaha. But…modesty has its limits I suppose lol.
All that to say, thanks and to everyone who doesn’t win this DVD – I would still recommend that you buy one – I’m sure it will be great (seeing the women featured) and provide some A+ stories.
Cheers

You’re welcome! I really liked the post you did on your birthday where you just talked about the things people didn’t know about you – it’s always great to see someone show their personal side as well! Enjoy the journey through the other great bloggers here!
Thanks a lot Kristi.
I had fun writing that post – although I hesitated quite a bit since I’m not really used to sharing that much in public or online lol.
But I’m glad I did it! It’s gotten some great comments and reviews and I’m thrilled with the fact that people found it entertaining to read.
Cheers to your continued success Kristi
. I’ll be looking forward to reading more great and useful posts from ya.

This is my first time seeing Gail’s pic, you’re a great detective too. I’ve got my work cut out for me keeping tabs on all these awesome gals. I’ll follow your Twitter list for sure.

Kristi, oh Kristi, I just don’t know how to thank you. I am speechless and feels so humbled, thinking how I made it to this list of great female bloggers!
I have a confession to make, as Kristi and I haven’t had any form of interaction before. I discovered Kikolani around three months ago, the same time I started blogging! I knew how famous she is, and I made the right decision of connecting with her, both just on facebook & twitter. But, that’s the only communication I have with her. So to say that I’m surprised with being included in the list is an understatement – I could’t hide my excitement until now!
I look up to so many female bloggers from my niche, and if I may add a few, here are their sites:
Emma Tiebens: http://www.therelationalmarketer.com/
Amanda Marie: http://amanda-marie.com/
Jennifer May : http://www.JennKMay.com
Layla (from Toby & Layla): http://workwithtobyandlayla.com
Outside of my niche, of course there is “the” Marie Forleo…
Marie Forleo: http://marieforleo.com/
I am thanking you from my hometown here in the Philippines with an unreliable connection (the reason it took me sometime to go through most of the comments & the list itself). I’ll be back in Singapore this Friday, and I can’t wait to connect with the rest of the females in this list! ^_^
Being a part of this list is both a great blessing and definitely a challenge for me. A challenge to always learn from the best (such as yourself & the women in this list), and to take action, NO MATTER WHAT
BIG thanks and BIG hugs to you all!

But I think Kristi has done a hell of a job here! And it means quite a bit when it comes from someone like her.

Hi Kristie,
I am speechless…OK not that speechless that I can’t say THANK YOU. What an awesome list of women and what an honor to be on it.
I know we’ve only touched base a couple of times but each time has been great and I’m really looking forward to watching it grow.
This list must of taken you forever to create…you once again raised the bar! It’s going to take me days to go through it and see who I’m not following on Twitter so I can connect with them.
Hey listen I was going to email you if I didn’t hear a response from you, but since I’m here, check out my post today. I’m creating something and it would truly be an honor if you could participate in. And it will only take a few minutes out of your day.
Thanks again and awesome job as always!! Ciao.
Thanks again
I did the research process over the course of two weeks… the compiling definitely took a lot longer than I planned, but was well worth it!
Wow and wow again. Do you ever sleep Kristi??!! What a list
I was very surprised to see myself on it. Being fairly new to blogging I have so much to learn. Some of these awesome women I already follow on Twitter and read their blogs regularly.
However heaps I have just been introduced to. Have bookmarked this page and will work my way through them all. I am sure I am going to be learning even more. Thanks for including me on this list Kristi. I am smiling and although it’s nearing the end of the day in this part of the world, can’t resist going to visit some of these ladies now.

WOW! Thanks so much for including me in such an awesome list of bloggers Kristi.. this list is amazing..definitely going to set aside some reading time as I saw several bloggers I hadn’t yet run across that I’d love to get to know further.
I agree it seems women are a bit of the minority at times when it comes to lists like these, unless it’s a list geared specifically for women..hopefully with posts like this, the tides will turn a little more in an even keeled favor.
Hugs, hope your holiday was awesome!

Ok I am done now! Sorry about that. I still totally dig the list you put together and now have found a whole new group of fabulous people to keep an eye out and follow. I completely understand the data analysis takes you where it goes to form these lists. Thank you for publishing how the data lead you to this list, this makes it easier for most to digest.
What advice would you give this group of woman to show up in the analysis?
Keith Privette recently posted Opt-In checkbox is not 2-way- but it can be!
Advice… I guess it’s all about marketing and getting on people’s radars. I’m sure that the lists I have been on have been the result of regular interaction with those bloggers in their comments, on multiple social networks, and so on. It takes time and dedication (not sure I was that widely noticed until I had been at it for at two years). But if you’re creating good content and really engaging with lots of bloggers, it will happen!
Kristi,

On the one hand, I love this list! It’s got a ton of new women for me to check out and I always like to see women acknowledged.
On the other hand, I hate that there has to be a list of “women” bloggers in order to be recognized. I’d prefer we were all just bloggers with no distinction needed in order to get a little love.
I agree. The inspiration behind the post is that some really amazing women in blogging never seem to get mentioned, even though they have as many Twitter followers / readers as some of the others in lists, maybe because of their niches or whatever the reason. I thought this way, I could hit both the A-listers and ones that I know will be one day as well.
Wow! What an awesome list of female bloggers. I follow several of these women already – shout out to Ann Smarty, the Outspoken Media ladies, and several others!
I am sure there are even more wonderful women who are blogging that we don’t know about. Sometimes, we just get drowned out by the mass of men in our industries, which is too bad. Come on ladies! Blog proud and loud! (Some of these ladies are already making their voices heard! Woo hoo!)
One outstanding female blogger who I would love to add to the list is Heather Lloyd-Martin over at http://www.seocopywriting.com/blog/. Heather not only tackles topics related to content marketing, SEO copywriting, and client relations, but she also blogs about roadblocks that cause you to get in your own way. Sometimes the timing of her blogs is scary, especially when she touches on an issue that I am struggling with, but haven’t mentioned.
Thanks again for highlighting these women and for the Twitter list to follow these amazing bloggers.

I was shown this blog as a list of Fearless Female Bloggers. Frankly i was rather surprised to see very little in mental health. Most of these folks appear to be coaches, bloggers who write about blogging, gardeners etc. I’m sure these are all fabulous women…but fearless? Perhaps for ypur next list you can take a look at some of the really brave work that’s being done to help women in the venue of MH Blogging?
I consider many of them fearless because, if you read their bios / posts, they write about topics / experiences that are extremely personal and would be tough for anyone to share on a worldwide platform. Especially the women in the personal development area. I’m not sure I could even be as open as some of these ladies are on some subjects, but they were extremely inspirational.
I would be happy to hear about some of the bloggers you read, if you want to list them here!
Thank you so much Kristi for featuring me with so many other inspirational bloggers! I consider You at the top of this list. I you see just going for it – writing such great content. I really admire your work- keep it up!
Blessings ♥,

I appreciate it, but there are definitely a lot of other women who deserve the top of the list honor!
Hi!
I kinda agree there; mental health doesn’t get the attention it should. I have a severe anxiety disorder and I’ve spent the past two years pushing through it and building a business. It is something I talk about rather openly in interviews and on my blog.
Because I am so open, people come to me with their stories. There are so many brave, fearless woman who are choosing to be discreet with their mental health issues.
I’m actually starting a site called ‘theanxietyproject.com’ where I can encourage some of my friends to share their story. I have no idea how it’s going to work but just wanted to say that people aren’t ignoring mental health. I get annoyed at how it is shoved under the carpet but thats because there is no-one encouraging the conversation in their niche.

Actually, maybe I’ll visit this post twice a week, learning all I can about one or two women each visit. By the time next year’s list rolls around, I’ll have managed to become fully informed about each woman on the list. I’m honored to be amongst such fearless folk!

I am honored to be included on your list!
It’s been way too long since we’ve connected. So many changes have occurred in my life in the past year. And yet …I continue to blog!
Did I say I love blogging? It’s evolved for me and I’ve made so many lifelong friends through blogging. I can’t believe I only found this list today. But better late than never, right?
Thank you Kristi,
Debbie Petras
Hey Kristi
Wow, what a long list and that should give me some great additions to my RSS reader. Thanks.
One that you missed – and that will confuse your list – are the famous twins at http://www.5minutesformom.com/, Janice Croze and Susan Carraretto.
They have been blogging since 2006 and 5MinutesForMom was quoted as 2nd top parenting blog in the Wall Street Journal and constantly ranks around the top at Technorati.
They also run five sister blogs such as 5MinutesForSpecialNeeds.com and 5MinutesForFaith.com and, as if that isn’t enough for no sleep, they run two ecommerce toy stores.
The twins pioneered the concept of giveaways, carnivals and Twitter parties in their niche and are the inspiration for untold numbers of mom bloggers.
Notable events they run or are involved with are the Ultimate Blog Party, Disney Social Moms and Blissdom Canada.
Oh, and they look kinda cute, lol!
Jon
ps: no, they didn’t pay me to write that!!!
pps: you have fabulous blog content, btw. I’ll be back often

I couldn’t find myself, so here it is, #126:
I’m a speech therapist and Kindermusik educator and on my blog I like to talk about language development, child development, music benefits, bilingualism and more!
Seriously, I follow some of these women and they are amazing!
