15 List Post Ideas When You Get Writer’s Block

List Post Ideas for Blogging

This is a guest post by Tristan Higbee from Blogging Bookshelf.

It’s one of the irrefutable, iron-clad laws of blogging: everyone loves list posts.

You’ve no doubt written your fair share of list posts, and they’ve no doubt been among the more successful posts on your blog. But sometimes blogger’s block hits hard and you don’t have that golden idea for your next post. It happens, and when it does happen, these refer back to this post and one of the 15 list post ideas mentioned below.

1. People You Should be Following on Twitter

Hopefully you’re already an active Twitter user (if not, go write a list of ten reasons you should be on Twitter). You’ve probably come across some Twitter users who just knock it out of the park in terms of usefulness of tweets, quality of interaction, frequency of tweets, or some other metric. Suggest these people to your readers so that they can get the most out of their Twitter experience.

2. Blogs You Should be Reading

Go ahead, give a shout out to your blogging buddies or friendly rivals. Don’t be stingy with your links! Linking to other blogs will strengthen the relationship between you and the other bloggers while providing your readers with additional useful content.

3. Things I wish I Had Done Differently

Ah yes, the TIWIHaDoD post (and yes, I just made that up). Help people not make the same mistakes you made. These kinds of posts are invaluable resources for those just starting out in your field of interest, and can rise up to be among the most popular posts on your blog.
