There are lots of plugins for WordPress users to help grow your email list. If you are looking for a plugin that offers all of the features you need to increase the size of your list, then you should add Bloom to your website.
Developed by the team behind ElegantThemes, Bloom offers multiple opt-form placements and designs. Best of all, it’s simple to use. Once you have installed the plugin, you will set up your opt-in forms using the following steps.
1. Set up your email service.
To connect your email service to Bloom, you will go to the Bloom menu, choose Email Accounts, and click the New Account button.
Next, you will choose your email service from a number of popular options including MailChimp, Aweber, GetResponse, InfusionSoft, and several others.
You will then enter your email service provider’s details as requested. You can use the user documentation to get further instructions on where to find specific information, how to generate API keys, and other details related to your email service provider.
2. Set up your opt-in form.
Once your email service is setup, you can start creating your opt-in forms. You will have the following types from which to choose.
- Pop-Up – Popups are incredibly effective, and they can be controlled using various custom triggers.
- Fly-In – Flyings are a great way to encourage sharing when visitors are most engaged with your post.
- Below Post – Connect with your visitors when they are most engaged, after they have finished reading your post.
- Inline – Create your own opt-in shortcode that can be placed on any post or page inline with your content.
- Widget – Widgets allow you to easily place an opt-in form in your website’s sidebar or footer area.
- Locked Content – Required your visitors to subscribe before they get access to the content on your post or page.
You will link your opt-in form to your email service provider that you set up earlier. Or, if you skipped the first step, you can set up your email service provider details here too.
Unlike some opt-in form plugins that only offer a few options and little customization, Bloom offers a total of 115 combinations of designs and colors from which to choose and customize. You can choose from forms that allow subscribers to enter their email address alone or their first name and email address, based on your preferences.
Next, you will configure the details for your opt-in form. These details include the text for the title and message, image settings (such as an jpg of your free ebook or lead magnet), image load animation, opt-in form styling, form style, footer text, thank you message, and custom CSS if you want to further customize the design.
Last, but not least, you will configure the display settings. Here, you can choose to when the opt-in form will show, what will trigger an opt-in, and how it will be animated.
You can choose to show your opt-in in specific areas (everywhere, homepage only, pages only, posts only, or archive pages only) and on posts within specific categories. The latter can help you create opt-in forms and lead magnets that cater to audiences with specific interests, such as a free ebook on Facebook shown to visitors who are reading a post in your blog’s Facebook category.
You can also choose to show an opt-in on a specific post or page, or not to show it on specific posts for additional targeting and customization.
3. See which opt-in forms perform best.
Have you been curious as to which opt-in forms convert the best? Find out with the easy to use A/B testing and statistics that Bloom has to offer. You can create variants of your opt-in forms to experiment with different colors, messages, and lead magnets.
Once you have created your variants, you can start your A/B testing.
After a few days, you can view the results and choose the best opt-in form based on performance.
This will ensure that you are using the best opt-in forms for growing your list throughout your website.
